PDF Section 508 Accessibility
Problem
It was noted that the Spring 08 Events Calendar PDF did not pass the Adobe Acrobat accessibility checkpoints and may be in violation of Section 508 accessibility requirements:- This document is not tagged; the reading order of the contents may be incorrect.
- None of the images in this document that need alternate text have it.
- All of the text in this document lacks a language specification.

Closed Captions
I recently tried my hand at adding captions to the War trailer on the Doc Film website.
I originally thought a plain text file with the transcription would be
enough, but as I learned, good captioning falls more under the area of
copy editing than technical coding or programming.
Basically, captioning is an editorial task and should not be treated
as a web-specific task.
With that in mind, I would suggest:
1) Provide a basic captioning style guide for the College.
2) Hire or train captioners to use the NCAM Media Access
Generator (MAGpie).
